Without pointing fingers or heavy-handed punishment, the professor is ultimately persuaded to change his mind. The reason for his change of heart is provided by Mr Peppers and a special natural product. Thanks to his new friendship, Professor Rashly increasingly learns to appreciate the benefits of nature and to use his inquiring mind with care. In return, the professor teaches Mr Peppers about the benefits of science and technology, which, in an environmentally conscious and well-measured way, will make his everyday life easier.
The story is still unpublished. I would love to find a native English speaker to translate the original German version into English with the appropriate humour, wit, and charm to make this extensive work accessible to an English-speaking audience. The art of rhyming verse is also required in certain passages of the text.
I would be very pleased about your interest in my work. Thanks for contacting me via the contact form.
Educational background:
The themes of ‘environment and nature’ and ‘social interaction and friendship’ are dealt with in a child-friendly way. The story has a subtle socio-critical background without being overtly moralistic. The story is not about good versus evil, but about a harmonious (healthy) interplay between the two opposites. Technology and progress are helpful if used prudently. Modern solutions to support and preserve the environment and nature are shown in a playful way, as are the benefits for people through respectful interaction.
